Brazoria & Columbia Veterinary Dental Care
Routine dental care is a key component of your pet’s health and overall well-being. Just like humans, our companion animals need regular dental checkups to maintain good oral health. At Brazoria & Columbia Veterinary Clinics, we encourage dental cleanings at least once a year to keep your pet’s teeth clean and fresh, reduce plaque buildup, and prevent gum disease.
Our pets are very good at hiding pain, so it’s important to keep an eye on your pet’s oral health and schedule a dental visit if you notice any of the following symptoms:
- Bad breath
- Loose or broken teeth
- Changes in chewing/eating behavior
- Swollen or bleeding gums
- Loss of appetite
What's included in a Dental Cleaning?
At Brazoria & Columbia Veterinary Clinics, a dental cleaning includes a comprehensive dental exam of your pet’s teeth, gums, and mouth. We use digital dental x-rays to get an enhanced view of the oral cavity and thoroughly examine above and below the gum line for any signs of periodontal disease. Dental exams occur under general anesthesia to ensure that your pet doesn’t feel any pain or discomfort as we clean and polish their teeth.
We offer full-service oral surgery including tooth extractions, growth/tumor removals, and jaw repair. Veterinary dentistry services are also available for horses and farm animals. Our friendly team makes every effort to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet during a dental cleaning, and many of our clients tell us how much happier their pets are after a dental checkup. We love to hear this, and we are committed to keeping your pet happy and healthy!
